Providing Empowerment

Student Ambassadors:

This program is preferably for Liberian students in middle & high school or college in the United States who are given the opportunity to travel to Liberia and/or contribute their time to improving lives in Liberia. This program positively affects the students' perspective on life as they display selfless services through cultural, educational, humanitarian and development of life skills through volunteering.

The program also seeks to inspire, educate, empower, and assist students find their purpose in life and passion to improving the lives of those who are less fortunate.

This program gives students the opportunity to make positive choices by learning and being expose to diverse cultures, ethnicities, religions and regions around Liberia.

Upon completion of their volunteer services, students will have a renewed perspective, a sense of purpose and motivation to affect a positive change in their schools, communities, and the world at large.

The student ambassadors are responsible to spearhead fundraisers and/or shoes drive at their respective schools. Logistics and guidance will be provided to ensure the success of these shoes drive/or fundraisers.

*Student ambassadors are solely responsible for their airfare and lodging to Liberia

Criteria:
- Currently enrolled in middle, high school, college or recent graduate
- Maintained a "B" average

Basketball and Soccer Tournaments:

We would like to host, sponsor or collaborate with organizations during various sporting events. The goal is to use sports as a platform to seek future leaders who will become community crusaders. Players in these tournaments will donate their shoes to benefit under privileged Liberians. If you are a sporting team or school organization that would love to partner with Shoes for Liberia during your tournament, please contact us.

Shoes for Liberia Walk:

Walk-a-thon - improve your health through a form of exercise (walking) and donate your walking shoes towards helping the less fortunate in Liberia.

DISCLOSURE :
Registered walkers must be 18 years old at the time of walk. Minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during the event who is also a registered walker.

Please note that registration fees and all donations are non-refundable and non-transferable. All walkers must have medical insurance at the time of the walk in order to participate.
